The National Reality TV Awards (NRTA) was originally launched in the United Kingdom and is coming to the U.S. as the biggest and only annual television awards ceremony for Reality TV.  The official nominations were announced at a press conference in New York City May 30.

The NRTA TV Awards is set to become one of the biggest worldwide television awards shows specifically targeting the different sub-genres that make up Reality TV.

Shows like Celebrity Apprentice, American Idol, X Factor USA, The Voice, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Real Housewives of New York, and Dancing with the Stars, all battle it out at this year’s National Reality TV Awards 2012, taking place on September 24, at The Taglyan Centre in Los Angeles, California.

The NRTA was born out of the need to recognize the worldwide producers, celebrities, participants, researchers, and industry, that form part of what is now on the forefront of the global television market. And who doesn’t love a little reality TV?

The Best Reality TV Judge category sees a battle between Heidi Klum (Project Runway), Simon Cowell (X Factor USA), Ben Folds (The Sing Off), Tyra Banks (America’s Next Top Model), Randy Jackson (American Idol), Cee- Lo Green (The Voice), LA Reid (X Factor USA), and Donald Trump (The Apprentice).

E! Television’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians is a triple nominee for Best Reality TV Show (Non-Competition), Best Docu-Soap and Kim Kardashian has been nominated for Reality TV Personality of the Year.

In the Best Business Show category, it’s a battle between; The Apprentice, Shark Tank , Secret Millionaire, Cake Boss, HGTV Design Star and Undercover Boss.

All nominations for the categories are submitted by the public and the public will decide winners of each category by voting on the official NRTA website for their favorite shows, celebrities or participants. The winners of each category will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony taking place on September 24, 2012 in Los Angeles.
