Alfred Seymour Hopkins is a freelance writer and translator based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Born in Los Angeles, California, he got his degree in journalism from the University of California at Berkeley. After working several years for papers in the U.S., Mr. Hopkins did post-graduate studies at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and traveled around the continent writing for the York Gazette and Daily, Dispatch News Service, Religious News Service, World Press Review and others.

Subjects he likes to write about include ecology, politics, human rights, development problems in Latin America. Mr. Hopkins also does people-oriented interviews or pieces on culture and theatre. A collection of his short stories in Spanish was recently published by Editorial Aires.
