Job Requirements

We are seeking a part-time, temporary (2-3 months) Marketing Assistant to work with our transit agency client in Oakland. This position will provide administrative and technical support to the agency’s marketing department specifically on the agency’s new vehicle procurement program. The job requires experience in event planning and logistics; however, if the candidate has experience in one of these areas, and is versatile and resourceful enough to glean concepts in other areas readily, this would be acceptable. The position also requires experience with digital information design. The candidate must be a team player who has experience interacting with the public (for example, organizing and participating in community meetings). The approximate number of hours per week is 28, but is subject to fluctuate based the project requirements for the week. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting with marketing, communication, and outreach plans related to BART’s Fleet of the Future design and funding.
• Executing digital graphics.
• Staffing and logistical prep for public meetings related to the Fleet of the Future (Prototype reviews, Mockup reviews, Accessibility Task Force, LEP Task Force, Bike Task Force, etc.).
• Drafting web content for the New Vehicle Project web page.
• Managing master list of consumer features and benefits for use in marketing the project and building support for funding the exercise of Contract Options.
• Responding to, cataloging, and preparing summary reports on public email feedback regarding the New Vehicle Program.
• Adhering to communication guidelines and maximum customer response times.
• Peer review of other transit system rolling stock features, data collection and organization.
• Continued Passenger Information Plan development, including oversight of creation, sequence, and timing of hundreds of pages of detailed content for planned on-board digital screens.
• Follow-up on design-related action items that arise from design meetings with Bombardier and their design subcontractor, Morelli Design, as needed.
• Technical specification review to support negotiating changes with Bombardier as needed.
• Design document management, including design image management.
• General project administration including subcontractor management, travel authorizations, and invoice review.
EXPERIENCE:
A degree in communications is preferred, however 6 years of experience can be substituted.
Familiarity with digital graphics design (HTML5).
Ability to travel to various locations within the BART service area.
Able to work evenings, as needed for public outreach meetings.
