A Gloating Putin: U.S. Monopoly 'Almost Done'
On October 18, in his annual foreign policy speech, Russian President Vladimir Putin trolled the United States, calling it an "empire," and declared that America's world dominance "is almost done." He also gloated about his new weapons and claimed that the U.S. bears some responsibility for the disappearance of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi. During Thursday's speech, Putin also said that Russia is loaning Egypt billions of dollars to cover the cost of a Russian-built nuclear power plant there, and outlined a new military deal with Beijing.
